Compare the whole itinerary
A route name is only the beginning. Look at the complete day-by-day plan, including arrival, preparation and the return journey. Compare how much time your proposed itinerary gives to each stage and discuss the plan with the mountain team.
Olgita’s route collection includes Machame, Lemosho, Marangu, Northern Circuit, Rongai and Shira. Open the individual itinerary pages to compare the published day counts and overnight arrangements.
Think about overnight comfort
The Marangu itinerary lists huts; other route proposals can include camps. Tell the team which overnight setting you prefer and ask what equipment and support are included. Make sure you understand the accommodation before choosing solely on the route’s name.
Prepare for the days around the climb
Leave time to arrive, attend the briefing and check your equipment. Discuss the departure schedule after the climb so recovery and onward travel are not squeezed together. Request a route-specific packing list and ask the team about current trail arrangements before confirming.
